How can I improve my search results?
  • Check your spelling and make sure you have typed your search terms correctly.

  • If you are searching for a concept consisting of more than one word, put these words in quotation marks (") to specify that these words should be searched as one phrase. This will increase the relevancy of search results notably.

    Example:-
    "super 12"
    (instead of super 12)

  • Use the "+" sign to indicate that certain words MUST be present in the search results and the "-" sign to exclude certain words.

    Examples:-
    +"ringing tones" -mtn
    +property -rentals

  • Instead of using just one search term, try two or three words to specify more specifically what you are looking for. This should increase the relevancy of the results as it will place your query context:

    Examples:-
    +office +furniture +chairs
    (instead of only furniture)

    +jobs +"IT industry"
    (instead of only jobs)

Did you know that you can do a search within Ananzi's SA Directory? And you get great, quality results!

A SA Directory search may give you better results than a search on the SA Web. This is due to to the fact that each site within the directory has been manually checked and categorised.

Directory searches rely on the site name and a brief one line description of the site. If the results do not produce the correct information, it might be due to an inaccurate description submitted by the site owners or it could be that the site you are looking for, has not been submitted to Ananzi.

Each search box, within the Ananzi site, will give you the option to search the directory. Just tick the SA Directory circular [radio] button and type in your search. It's as easy as that!
